RIP Rallyday

For those that remember the good old Rallyday at Castle Combe its probably best that it remains a memory. It's not been great the last few years but this year is just plain boring! There used to be real variety..great cars, great drivers and great action. Now it's literally the same 20 or so cars going round and round and round. We got here at 9am..it's now 2pm and with the exception of a Landrover procession we've not seen anything exciting. The crowds used to be 5 deep..right now u can sit where u want.

There's no marshalls , only blokes stood there in flammable, branded polo's. I've never in 20 plus years of attending motorsport been to an event that isn't properly marshelled. They don't even have flags! Is this even legal/allowed?

It's now £25 to get in! You can tell that people would rather sit at home than spend that sum of money to watch the same cars all day.

For the last hour its the general 'run what u brung' trackday. Hopefully this will bring some excitement and action.

This was a real good day out and i hope the major changes are made to resurrect to its once great standing!

For now though its RIP Rallyday.

I used to to go there amongst other places,but it did start to get very boring,so i stopped going,i would not pay £25 for that place.

Rallies only use one flag (yellow), generally rally marshals don't wear proban (flame retardant overalls) AFAIK the event was not a "permitted" event so really just a glorified track day.

Stopped going a few years ago, way, waaaay too expensive for a glorified track day with a few interesting cars/drivers thrown in. The bog standard Action Days run by the circuit itself are far more entertaining, mainly because the power / talent ratio is heavily weighted to the former, and the circuit (particularly Quarry) doesn't take prisoners.

2007 was immense (and absolutely rammed)
