Loved The Avengers when I was a kid and Steed was the perfect gent - cool, polite, charming and pretty handy in a fight.

Another actor who seems to have always been there..Not seen him on telly in years, can't ever remember him in anything other than the Avengers.

The list of parts he has played is huge. I only recall him being in the Avengers ............. Mrs. Peel - how nice :)

I was talking to someone recently about The Avengers, and they couldn't seem to understand that it didn't involve super-heroes. :p

I think I'm getting old. All the actors and entertainers I watched as a kid seem to be dropping (well, those that aren't in prison anyway)

Farewell Sir Denis Eton-Hogg....

Mrs Peel. For an impressionable young lad learning about women - need I go on? And that black leather catsuit.........

Ahh yes, I remember it became the New Avengers. Although no idea what the difference was, apart from it becoming newer of course :)

He had a male side kick too, Gambit Gareth Hunt, I'm so pleased Gareth's parents never named him Mike.
(say it quickly but not out loud :D )

Although it also seems he had other male sidekicks
Gambit was Steed's first male partner since Drs. David Keel and Martin King in the original The Avengers nearly 15 years earlier.

I used to love the Avengers as a kid, maybe Mrs Peel had something to do with it of course ;)

RIP, Patrick Macnee.

Ho I don't know, I had a soft spot for Tara King. I think Emma peel was a little too obvious

Binky can now have some time off - Death has a new Steed...

A long and full life was had and he's remembered fondly.
