Awww I loved that guys voice. As soon as I hear it Im taken way back to my childhood.
Me too, I loved the Clangers as a kid, still do
Forgot about Ivor the engine, forgot just how much kids tv he was responsible for

A sad loss - Noggin the Nog and Ivor The Engine were classics of my childhood TV viewing and the Clangers were just great 
Just been onto my Bro's poetry forum to find he'd penned this tribute:
Oliver Postgate
British as a windy day
Or mash that goes with bangers,
Olly Postgate's passed away,
The man who made the Clangers.
Bagpuss was a cat we knew
Who had a bright pink tinge in
Cloth fur and I must mention too
The great Ivor the Engine.

Us kids were so elated,
Each character was so unique
That Oliver created.
