Sad news this morning, a legend has passed, Niki Lauda, aged just 70.

I’ll always remember him for his comeback after his horrendous accident and his fight for the championship with James Hunt in 1976. He’d had various health problems recently, even a lung transplant last year.

If ever there was a fighter, it was Niki.
 
Thoughts with his family and friends.
 
A man to emulate. RIP.
 
His lung problems since inhaling toxic fumes during the accident had dogged him far more than the burns did.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said about the great man except losing him and Charlie Whiting in the same year is very sad.
 
I have never really been a big fan of F1, apart from when Damon Hill won it, and when Niki and James Hunt went head to head, so much more exciting than the years since but I always admired Lauda for his comeback and even his not taking part in the final race that year on safety grounds. he was truly influential and remarkable, a very sad day.
 
Wonderful man and a great inspiration to many.

He will be missed by all. RIP.
 
He was THE man for a no nonsense, straight to the point answer, regardless of whether it embarrassed the 'talent'! I always enjoyed that :)
