One of those people where you're never really sure if they're still around or not.

As a kid in the 70's we always to to say "Jimmy Hill" and stroke our chines if we did not believe the person talking, no idea how it started tho.

As a Coventry City fan I am saddened by the news today. Lovely tributes on the Coventry City forum to Jimmy, a true legend at our club. Completely revolutionised our club, as well as the game of football that we know today. RIP Jimmy. ⚽
 
Heard it on sky sports news this afternoon. Grew up with jimmy presenting the sport on Saturday. Sad news
 
Great bloke. Did loads for the game, if only he was the Fifa president!!
 
I'm not a great football follower so I never realised what an amazing life and career in football he had. Few will ever equal his career and achievements in the game.
 
As long as it doesn't come out that he was a pervert then my condolences are offered, mind you he was still a poof...

Seriously?? Both ridiculous, pathetically unfunny and ignorant comments imo. Had I said that I can imagine I'd get lambasted as a homophobe. I have for less in the past. The mans dead ffs!!!!:rolleyes:

JH regularly belittled us Scots football standards and team etc and many disliked him for this. Albeit he was perceived as a carachtature of the English attitude to our 'lesser' game, he was still regarded and respected as a football man. RIP Jimmy the Jaw.

Well, 80 good years - the last 7 were probably pretty crappy for those close to him if not himself.
