especially the Non Photo ones.
 
no lively as ever ,plenty of stuff selling ???
 
Christmas credit card bills. valentine's day, half-term kids, and holiday bookings to make? It's a tough time of year! :eek:
 
February is historically a quiet time of year for our business as well. As said above Christmas credit card bills have landed and summer holidays have to be paid for.
 
I agreed a purchase in the non-photo classifieds the other day! Worried about my posting ratio now :eek:

yep it has but its also taken out a lot of the iffy ones ,i can remember back to a certain lady that was doing a huge amount of wheeling and dealing and totally made a mockery of it.

to be perfectly honest though i still find that e/bay even when fees are taken into account hits a larger market place and gets better bids to cancel out the fees difference . these days the shop prices tend to resemble e.bay prices more and more don't know if thats good or bad
 
I think the posting ratio has affected it, i still need to post about 200 times to get my privilege back

Not a dealer just an accumulation of posts over the years and a chop and change attitude to lenses!
 
How can one tell how close to the sun one is flying in the ratio game then?
 
I have found the variety if stuff has gone away used to be all sorts if stuff sold now its bare bones.

Easiest way is just click on your avatar, it's one of the stats shown.

It maybe does make it quieter. I am sat at 49 which makes me very close to losing my ability to buy or sell. I have quite a few cameras / related items that I would usually be selling on here but I am selling elsewhere because of the restrictions. It does feel a shame as I usually sell to people at a good price and have also given stuff away via the threads. Having said that I know it hasn't always been as smooth for other members and I can understand why these steps have been taken. I am not in the business of typing too many posts just to beef my ratio up but I do visit this forum every day and still learn from it.

Well I have posted a few times recently as I need a couple of things? seems odd to reduce the amount of people able to buy and sell stuff - mind you I did seem to see some very frequent buying up of the bargains on there lenses mainly, people being driven down by the same people all the time. How many 24 70's does one man need...lol The mods will have the stats I am sure and could be more targeted, but I assume that would be discriminatory I assume. No proof of that and its only speculation of course.

I think it has had a big impact and think things should be relaxed.

I also think new people to the forum cannot get involved in the access to good kit route which they would benefit from.

LOL luckily i was just jesting ,but it was a necessary move as you say certain people were jumping on everything as it appeared to profit from others lack of price knowledge .i totally agree with it and the limits ,use it or lose it

Of course, we nailed em as we spotted 'em. Although they always denied it, ( even when caught "red handed")
Don't forget those that were caught buying off the likes of ebay and selling straight on, on here.
They weren't happy when they lost access either were they? :D

Have been thinking the same - no-one selling a 20mm nikon or a leica m6 (which i probably don't need so a good thing!)

So my score is 10, and have done 10,600 posts - does that mean 10% i.e. 1000 have been in classifieds - wow!

You might consider a little sentence structure before pointing out a typo simply because you're annoyed by someone's (rather accurate, it would appear) post.
