I mean, Carrie Fisher had an affair with Harrison Ford, and that's true, but you didn't mention it. She's been married twice and has one daughter, and that's true, but you didn't mention it. She once nearly choked to death on a Brussels sprout, and that's also true, but you didn't mention it either. So I'm just wondering what's the importance of this one true thing that you did choose to mention.
 
may I suggest that if you find someone to be a complete and utter sanctimonious judgemental arse, who's roundly committed to keeping him/herself as the centre of attention, and it offends you mightily, then RTM them, let the staff do the moderating, and use the IGNORE button. If they are the cockwomble you feel them to be, and everyone adopts this process, then they'll soon be bleating in an empty field, and with a little luck will either b****r off completely, or so something SO major they'll get smited...

Now, it's SUPPOSED to be the season of goodwill... Lets all practice that please, and stop derailing this "espressing concern" thread with petty bickering. Then I gan get my backside out on the bike for a couple of hours to build up a calorie defecit that'll at least cover the starter of my christmas dinner (who am I kidding, it'll barely cover the "bar tarrif"...)

I'd suggest mr bump was repeating things doing the rounds on social media. Certain lifestyles do affect people's health in later life, be it drug abuse, alchohol, or even eating too much of the wrong things.

But, as this is the friendliest forum, let's not jump on the social media trend of all jumping on someone and abusing them if you don't approve of their statement. Either report it or just point out that it's inappropriate or could be misconstrued. Too many people repeat things at times without thinking, trying to be first.

And, there's been no updates yet, which hopefully means she's stable and will recover.

Have celebrities not died in other years? Really don't understand this fascination with how bad 2016 has been. Seeing as it was the 60s and 70s most will be 60+ by now and looking at what a lot of them got up to it's surprising they lasted this long... Although how on earth is Keith Richards still alive?? Much bigger number of famous people now, hence more will die.

I'm pretty sure he died years ago, just nobody has told him yet. Either that or it's some kind of Highlander scenario and he's killing other celebs off to absorb their life force.

It's the great fallacy that drives social media - namely, that the world desperately wants and needs to hear your opinion on everything; even if it's just to state that you don't care.

I just heard about Debbie Reynolds too.
The stroke is conjecture at this point, but it was also reported that she took ill after her daughter's death yesterday, and I guess given her age and the stress, a stroke could easily be triggered.
 
RIP Debbie Reynolds although more famous than her daughter i doubt many will know who she is.... At least she outlived her daughter if only by a day :(
