I was out and about taking photos this afternoon in the snow with my Canon 350D and it seems to have died. My first thought is that something important has got damp but following is a list of the symptoms if anyone can help:
Screen is working and displaying no error messages
Shutter isnt functioning at all (Ive tried firing it with the remote too)
Change of lens makes no difference
I can change aperture and shutter speed but wasnt able to at all when it first went kaput. That was intermittent when I first got home an hour ago but it's gradually improved and now seems fine
ISO, WB, menus etc. can all be changed and settings are displayed on the screen
I put a polythene bag over the camera while I was out but a few big snowflakes still managed to land right on top of it and melt before I had chance to dab them away.
Ive removed the lens and put the body face down on a tissue in a dry place (ambient temperature ought it to be somewhere warmer, like close to a radiator?). Any ideas would be most welcome.
