Hi folks- me again:D

Still musing over studio lights- I swither between Bowens (500R/pro) and Lencarta Elite Pro 600.

However, what with backgrounds and the space required etc I am beginning to think a ringflash would be better.
A lot depends on what I actually want to do I know and to be honest I am not sure I have resolved that yet- so at the moment lets gloss over that:lol:

So, Ringflash- anyone any experience of these or any other brand I've missed- like the look of the Hensel and the battery does seem lightweight.
Hear good things about the Safari but don't really hear anything on the other two- possibly because they look like more hassle to purchase as probably need to be from the states. If they were much more impressive it may be worth it though.
Not really interested in any of the kid on Ringflash things- unless you can convince me that they are 80-90% as good (on an SB900) for a tenth of the price (or some stat like that;)).

Also- are any of these Ringflashes 'water/weather resistant' for outdoor use or are they just as fragile as using studio lights outside?

Your thoughts appreciated:)

aah ok, gotcha. Have you seen any real world reviews of these anywhere? Googling around seems to turn up a few threads on strobist and the like, but little actual detail or experienced users - the 1200ws pack, couple heads and a ring would be a nice kit...

I need /some kind/ of battery system, and if I'm going to have to do it properly properly, it'll be the profoto acuteb I think - something like this would hold off that need for a bit longer.

It's soon to be replaced by the Jinbei Discovery (DC600 and DC1200), for which there are a couple of early reviews here.

Thanks guys for the extra info- some interesting stuff.

Just bought a new pc today and in the process of acquiring another monitor so lighting solution is down the list a bit now:lol:

New Lencarta product could be interesting- remote control of elite pros? Better battery technology of safari pack? Redesign of the actual safari? Battery for studio lights? etc etc- time will tell.
