Gutted isn't the word for it. He was one of the very few comedians who actually made me wet myself with laughter.

I can imagine him in heaven as Rick from the Young Ones shouting "Oh God, you utter and complete b*****d!".

Just seen this news on the local paper's site. Thoughts are with his family and real friends.

Sad news, especially for those of us that grew up (and those of us who didn't ;) ) with his comedy

I felt really strange when I saw that he died. It was only last week I was watching videos of him on youtube and thought to myself people are going to remember him when he dieso_O wierd...

Always had a good laugh at the "mouse in a telescope" lol

RIP Rik, you've kept us all entertained since the Young Ones first came out. He can now go and make God chuckle at his place. My thoughts to his family at this tragic time.

Very sad. The Young Ones was a little early for me but loved the New Statesman and Bottom was hilarious! The word genius is used too often, but he was a comedy genius!
 
Last thing I expected

From Day 1 I thoroughly enjoyed his work

RIP Rick and thamks for the great laughs and always when I needed a lift.

One of the true comedy greats from the 80's. I dread to think how many times I have watched the young ones,comic strip, bottom, filthy rich and black adder episodes, and still p***ed my pants laughing at him.
