Righto spec me a lens time

i have a canon 450D with 18-50mm IS kit lens and a canon 55-250mm IS lens, but i want to buy a quality bit of glass im looking to buy around Christmas time need to save and have the time to sweet talk the misses

i reckon my budget would be around £600-£650 i would sell my 55-250mm IS around christmas too to help fund my budget

i am mainly into sports, wildlife so would need something with a bit of reach but as im a complete noob i dont really know what im looking for/whats good or whats not ect

so TP can you help?
