Ricoh R8 vs Canon G9 bit of help pls

Hay guy nice and easy question for you all . Im looking to buy a camera and have it down to two makes. I wont a point and click for days out and just day to day stuff. But I wont a camera that can do good close up macro witch both can do .

The pro to the Canon is Raw ( Witch I dont use yet ) the manul mode and some of tools like time laps

Not used either of them, but I imagine the Ricoh will have better IQ (less pixels cramped onto a small sensor) and the wider end of the lens would be more useful than the extra 10mm on the long.

And its cheaper.

The Ricoh is a no-brainer, at least on paper. Never seen or used either though!!

Thats what im thinking I just found a shop just up the road from me that have 1 g9 left for £220. So i think I may buy that and I may all so go for the ricoh and pass it to the GF and use it for the wider end
2 camera's for the price of 1 on most websites right now

Hi,

It’s a choice I made and went for the G9 and I bought a used one.

I have used Canon cameras for a number of years, (I also own a Canon G3).
Picture quality is very good for a compact and you can get a good range of accessories.

It also had 1025 Video as standard great quality.
