Rick Parfitt

It's so depressing. Carrie Fisher is probably at death's door too.

That's going to be one hell of a new year party they have.
Another of the great musicians gone

Yes, just got pinged with the news - very sad...

Here's to 2017 being a better year ...

Very sad.
Quo's Christmas shows live are tough to beat.

Pictures of matchstick men, great guitar in that RIP Rick

What a bad year this has been ,not only the rich and famous I have lost quiet a few friends ,work colleagues and family .so so agree with Marcels comment above

Holy crap! :(
I had heard a few days ago, that he was un well, I didn't realise it was THAT serious!

died from a shoulder infection in Spain?

not sure I fully understand that and why ......... you would have thought that treatment would have stabilised him

MRSA perhaps? Dreadful news.

Someone will be on soon to confirm that it's down to his drug and alcohol lifestyle.

RIP Rick. Quo were always guaranteed to give you a bloody good time.

RIP Rick. You certainly made an impact, in the short time, you were here.

He didn't die of a shoulder infection.
He died of an infection resulting from a shoulder injury.
Many forms of catastrophic sepsis are unresponsive to treatment, and if the bacteria attacks the heart, it's game over.

all these deaths are getting me down ... down, deeper and down
Like it or hate it, it's the one absolute none of us will avoid.... live life as much as you can.... for me, memories of live Quo means they all live on, even when gone....

This was posted on a friend's page on FB and I thought how true
Yep, we're all beginning to close the big door. Baby Boomers who enjoyed life, wrote brilliant music, sang outrageous songs, changed fashion forever, gave us much, sent our teenage years into a good fun spin, set our standards, raised the bar, shocked the oldies, added zing to our lives, made us the best generation of all time (because, music-wise, the youngies of today haven't improved on what we did). I say THANK YOU to those who are leaving us, because without them we would not be having the fun we still are having

what a way to "bookend" the year - losing a couple of Rockers like Lemmy and Rick - both of which i've had the pleasure to speak with after gigs over the (many, many) years and many, many concerts they've given...

Iron Maiden need to hang in there - I've got tickets to see them next year!

I reckon the Quo will have to shut its doors now i think is it Rossi who has been told he will go deff if he carries on :-(

The Quo are one of my fave you tube look ups.

Might he perhaps go deaf?

I was a teenager during the first Dickinson era!

first saw them in 1980, firmly in the Paul DiAnno era - 17 at the time. Pretty sure I've never seen them since - strange to think they're a major stadium act yet I saw them at Wakefield Unity Hall, promoting their first LP
