i hope to visit on Saturday ,any tips on parking?ie where abouts,I have a canon 7d mkii with a 70-200 2.8 hope this is long enough?

If the weathers good and depending what time you arrive the the sheen gate and Isabella plantation car park are (imho) the best. From sheen gate Sawyers cross is the best place for deer or Isabella plantation go to penn ponds. 70-200 should allow you close enough

Many many thanks, praying on the weather but I'm going to be there first light.I shall head for one of those.

If you're there for first light the veichla gates don't open till 7:30 so you'll have to park outside and walk in

Thank you, dawn 8am? But knowing me about 6-30 -7 am

cool. I'm sure you'll have this but just in case https://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/richmond-park/map-of-richmond-park

The gates at Richmond, Kingston, Roehampton, Ham and Sheen all have good parking just outside if you get there before the vechcle gates open. You're less likely, though its not impossible to see deer either north of Sawyer's Hill or west of queens road. There are also feeders at the edge of the woods at the west side of the flying field and at the edge of the woods east of the royal ballet school.

Thanks a lot, such a interesting place,it has the same status as my garden believe it or not both sssi sites so I have something in common with it.lol,My son is on loan from Bath Rugby to London Welsh who play not far away although I haven't a clue how far at Old Deer Park so this may be the first visit of many until the end of the season.
