Richard Herman and my weirdest contact of the day

Well I have had a long day of doing almost nothing.......well when I say nothing I really mean things like housework etc....and answering bloody cold calls......some of you will know that I usually play around with the callers........then I heard of a guy called Richard Herman......he has stated billing the companies for his time at £10 per minute........so tomorrow I shall be implementing OPERATION GET SOME CASH FROM THESE BAR STEWARDS:D.......it will be interesting to see what results I get......apparently I have to warn them first if they ring back ever again then I will implement the charge......

And the weirdest contact of today.....some woman my mum knows sends me a Facebook message asking if I could go into town and buy her a key ring.....now the town in question is my home town in northern Ireland......I informed her that I live mostly in England now and she replies with......."DO THEY HAVE PET SHOPS IN ENGLAND?........ would you call in and see if you can get me a key ring and post it to me".....WTF:confused:
 
Most people hang up when they get these PPI etc calls. I went through a phase of pressing whatever button I needed to to confirm and then when I got the call back I told them I only pressed the button because I know they pay nearly £7 for the dead lead.....

However if you actually listen to the end of the recording it'll say press 0 to opt out.

Since doing that I've not had any sales calls. I used to get 2-3 per day

My calls are never automated.....they are actually humans........so I never get a chance to opt out........I had one call the other.well and I asked them to remove from their data base.....they said no problem and they have since rang on 2 other occasions.......I am registered on the telephone preference service but the calls keep coming
 
This has been mentioned on here before, and is really only practical for a home phone, but an answer machine is a cheap way of not being bothered by these nuisances.

Tell friends and family so they will leave a message, bona fide businesses will leave a message; the human cold callers will hang up when the answer machine cuts in. The automatic cold callers may also hang up but if they leave a message they won't have wasted your time.

I swear the woman is a complete puke........she keeps contacting me with random s*** but yesterday was by far the weirdest
 
I've gotta admit that is the most random thing I've heard in a long time :D
 
I don't have a land line per se but use a Skype-in number as my computer is on 24/7. Even so I still receive the odd call now and again.
Fortunately Skype has a block caller and report as abuse button/tick box
