Did anyone see Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections about the Space Shuttle? At one point they took pictures of how the shape of an aircraft affects the air passing over it. I found it surprising that they used a DSLR (Canon) without any lens attached :eek: through a series of lenses and mirrors.

If you want to have a look, it's at about 42min.


Asking for dust on the sensor if you ask me. ;) :lol:
 
Interesting - I'd missed that.
I suppose it's only a 450D, so quite cheap by lab standards, plus dust is fairly easy to clean. Does the 450D have shutter shake?

As fan as I'm aware it does have shutter shake... if they can afford a space shuttle then can afford a few cheap 450D's.

Interesting watch though - good find :)

IIRC it was the uni of Manchester and the "shuttle" was a 4" piece of metal.
