Exactly my thoughts! Would have thought he'd be more mature with his choice of kit :p
 
I was just about to have a rant about the replies to this thread then I looked at the cameras of the posters who'd replied, and realised they can't help it.
 
You have to keep things in perspective ....

a) The three stooges from Top Gear are admired by many here
b) Nikon is the camera of choice for serious photography
c) and this is the most important of them all ... many believe their gear to be an extension of their ego, not me of course :p
 
It looks like he's into flying, probably a helicopter too, so aerial photography maybe ?

He must have upgraded I had noticed in a few episodes of Top Gear he had what looked like a 400D (the Vietnam special was the last one I seen it in)

Hmm Richard Hammond, fast cars, photography and spare body springs to mind :shrug:
 
He has been shooting with a 5D for a long time....his all time favourite camera and he takes decent picture.

i find them just stooges for clarkson to bounce of :|
 
Nice to see he has class when it comes to his choice of camera manufacturer.
I can see a rush of TG fans coming over from the darkside :D

Works for him though, with followups such as Brainiac, the new BBC2 engineering show, CBBC etc.

He's a good presenter and a really nice bloke, exactly as you see on the screen. Had the pleasure of meeting him last summer when my lad was on CBBC Blast Lab (currently running on CBBC).
 
Good stuff, I've never met the chap but I read his book about his early life and his recovery from the accident, he seems pretty down to earth.

I wonder what other celebs enjoy photography in their spare time.

Actually, I believe he is into photographing perspectives and usually helps Clarkson to realize how big his head actually is.

hahaha. You Nikon people are all so bitter and twisted. Look, you can relax now, because the new f/f camera Nikon have brought out is almost as good a the Canon so you've really no need to feel so inferior.

So come on lads and lasses, get your chin up and be proud of your Nikon and look on the positive side. You aren't that far behind anymore!
 
David Suchet was on Desert Island Discs last week and expressed his love of photography. His grandfather was James Jarche, a Fleet Street photographer who scooped the first sighting of Edward and Mrs. Simpson

If you remember the episode when they had to make calanders as a task in one of the cheap car challenges, he actually ran over a 5D and 24-105....so it must have survived the impact :D

Yeah, the site is a bit on the slow side. I notice he does Polo photography, maybe I'll have to ring round some contacts. ;)

He is indeed, and quite deservedly so, i remember seeing some of his work on Morning TV sometime back and thinking how good he was, and the lucky b****r get's to snap all his celebrity mates :)

more of an observation really or should i just say how fluffy and nice?

my point being he allegedly loves motorbikes yet is subjugated by clarkson and never mentions them on top gear.
so even if he did love photography and clarkson didnt, would he speak up?
hence my neutral :| if you have a passion show it

im at the front of concerts photographing despite the pain and difficulties and
heres my motorbike which ive had to adapt with a electronic gear change, to keep rideing despite doctors warnings.

seems like a nice bloke but no hero or influence to me

Veitnam Special, May and Hammond made Clarkson ride a motorbike cross country. Plus it is a show about CARS! :lol:
