Who's going to this years royal international air tattoo

Yeah, Mach1 for me and Day ticket for Mrs.Rob

i really want to go but funds are tight at min i might be able to scrape the money for me and the wife to go, she does'nt know about it but she love airshows and i want to do it for part of her b'day present... just hoping i can sort the funds out though :'(

Best of luck mate. I hear there are some really good spots near to the airfield to watch from too

Cheers rob, what time does it start and what time is best to get there??

You can see the details on the website mate: http://airtattoo.com but as I recall flying starts from 10am though there's usually something in the air before then.

ive got a sigma 150-500 at the min but im in process of selling it, what do you think of the canon 100-400mm is for airshows??? whats your rating on the sigma??

Providing the sun is out you should have no problems with either.

I'll be taking my Nikon 300 F/4 and a 1.4TC

Then the Sigma will struggle to focus. The Canon would fair a little better but if the suns not out were going to get crap atmospherics and a poor sky to shoot against anyway so I'd put the camera away and enjoy the show

good answer rob  lets just hope the suns out then buddy, just hope i can make it there.... if not then :'(

im going to go along and have a look, will be doing the best my abilities allow with only a 300mm lens *** but its worth it for the amount of stuff that should be flying

Got tickets for Saturday. Can wait. Hopefully it'll be dry, but I'll be glad if it just goes ahead after last year.

got my tickets for either day - depends on the weather forecast :)

I'll be there with a mate from work (who's just retired at 60 jammy bu***r).

Got tickets for the Sunday, room booked at a Best Western near Swindon and tickets for the departures on Monday.

Hoping for two things;

1. Good weather after last years washout

2. Some more interesting aircraft but getting a bit late now for anything really special.

I'll be using my 100-300 EX, still getting comfortable with it but Cosford was a good practise run.

Fingers crossed the sun participates too !
