RIAT Plea! Canon 100-400L hire

Well, if the F35 doesn't fly, you can join me in my sorrow that the Vulcan isn't going to be there either. If I hadn't already got tickets and a hotel, I'd have had serious thoughts about not going. Mostly about money I suspect (given that the Vulcan is by far the most expensive visitor to airshows).

Anyway, glad you're sorted. For one plane I'd have happily lent you mine as I'm there both days.

There was masses of room, the field was huge (not a ploughed field in case you are wondering :D )
They put on an ice cream van, a drinks station and you could use the loos in the farm house.
Think we paid a tenner for it.

Is the Vulcan cancelled again? Goodness they tend to cancel more times than they actually turn up!
 
The Vulcan no-show was down to the RIAT, not the Vulcan team (or so says their own press release).

I'll do Farnborough this year and hopefully see them all there :)

I am hoping to do Farnborough as well this year.

If all else fails I live 15mins drive form Bournemouth and we have the Vulcan coming at least one day out of the four.
Unfortunately the interesting stuff (fast jets) is usually pretty scarce at Bournemouth.

How was the view from the field?

I've never been to Farnborough... it's every 2 years right? Maybe next time I'll try it
 
Just checked and the Vulcan is doing Shoreham Airshow this year :D good job I live in Shoreham hehe
 
The Vulcan is at Waddington tomorrow and Sunday (hopefully). Dunsfold and few other places, checkout vulcantothesky.org for dates. Farnborough this year but she'll be grounded by 2017

I'd say pretty good :) (All below were taken with the 100-400)
The only thing you miss out on is the Heli displays as they're pretty static over the runway - the planes fly over the field as part of their circuit to and from the runway.

I was wondering if anyone on here is in Leeds that I could hire their lens for the day?

Also, if anyone is going to RIAT and has the lens above they won't be using - would you hire it to me for the day? I am willing to pay you for the day what Lenses4Hire charges (£20 for the day)

I sold my 100-400 on here a while back and times like this I really miss it but I'm after a 70-200 IS for when my daughter gets born next month so I can't afford to buy the 100-400 for the airshow unfortunately.

I think you will need something a damn sight longer than that to see the F35!, I reckon it will still be in the States when RIAT is on!
