Hi I have found some rf602 triggers on ebay, they are listed as been for use on a canon, I thought they were all the same?

So question is are these what I need to use with my nikon & sb900?

Just want to make sure before i part with some hard earned.

The RF602 triggers and receivers are pretty much interchangeable

the ones listed as for canon come with a cable to be used also as a wireless camera remote control, so buy the right nikon one for your camera.

Not a big issue, the only thing different is the cable, and you can always buy the cables for about £2.50.

The RF-602RX (Receivers) are interchangable, the pins of these units accomodates both layouts for Nikon & Canon. My RF-602RX units have recently been used on both Nikon & Canon speedlights.

Does your eBay listing include the RF-602TX (Transmitter) too? If so, that won't be compatible with nikon gear. Because of this I recently bought a RF-602TX off Flash-In-The-Pan (FITP) for use with a 1D MkIII.

Talking of FITP, it might be worth your while seeing if FITP can do you a better deal on these items, he advertises stuff via This Thread in the Classifieds - Trade Sales here on TalkPhotography

The transmitters are different. You'll get reduced sync speed using Canon ones on Nikon.

Thanks didn't know that. No noticeable issues when using my Canon RF602tx with a friends Nikon. That said we both shot at 1/160. Didn't try at 1/250 or 1/200

I think it's only the cables that are different.

You do get slightly different x-sync speeds depending on the flash duration. My 580EX is clear at full x-sync speed (1/200sec, 5D2) on 1/8th power but there is increasingly slight shading at 1/4 power and higher.

I tell you what I found out yesterday. You don't want to put an RF602 on a Hasselblad H3D. Unless you want a strobe party. And instantly panic you may have upset your favourite camera.
