I've recently bought 4 Rf 603's to use as flash triggers, but, try as i may, i can't get them to fire my flashguns. I've tried both the hotshoe and cable connections and I've tried firing the transmitter manually and in the hotshoe.

Whenever i try them as remote camera triggers they are faultless !!!:bang:

My flashguns are old type from film days (which gives an idea of my vintage) Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

John

Have you ensured that the switch in each of them is set to the same setting? (It's under the batteries)

Your old flashes might trigger on a higher voltage and hence do not see the signal from the rf603.

Many thanks for the suggestions guys.

I have checked that they are switched on and switched to the same frequency.

The trigger voltage question had occured to me but they fire OK with my Cactus V4's (which i'm obviously still using LOL):bang:

What are you firing them from? One of the RF603s needs to have both green LEDs showing, which indicates it is acting as a transmitter (each unit is a combined transmitter/receiver). If it isn't mounted on a compatible camera, only one LED will show and the transmitter won't act as a transmitter.

I've had a similar problem with mine when trying to fire Lencarta smart flashes. When I click the shutter both the trigger and receiver flash a red light simultaneously. Obviously a signal is being sent for the red light to come on both units but the flash doesn't fire. It worked for the first 2-3 shoots and as of yet I have been unable to get to the bottom of why they are not working now.

Once again, thanks for the replies. ....Bluetooth, some are on the list and some not. As I say, my Cactus v4 fires them all OK. I had hoped to bye pass the voltage issue by using wireless triggers.

Freecom, thanks for the 2 led info, i didn't realise thats what it was telling me. (two leds do light sometimes) but i have tried from the camera hotshoe with no joy. I'll try the PC cable connection again and check if two lights are on. Once again, many thanks !!
