RF-602 + YN560 help!!!

Hi guys i've just had my RF-602 radio trigger and Yongnuo YN560 flash delivered at work and i'm sat at my desk trying to figure it out :thinking:

Now I don't have my camera on me but is there a way I can test the units work together without the camera? Also am I right in thinking I just connect the receiver to the flash hotshoe and then just press the shutter button on the transmitter?

Any help is greatly appreciated :thumbs:
 
Yes! ;)

Connect the flash to one of the receivers turn both flash and receiver on.

Make sure the receiver and transmitter are on the same channel with the little dip switches, press the transmitter, flash...

That's what I thought, but i'm doing this and the flash aint firing :|

Both appear to be on the same channel, but if they weren't how do you change channels?
 
Just use a Bic and press one of the channels to the up position on both transmitter and receiver, the orange plastic is just a cover you can take that off if you want.
 
Check the mode on the Flash too needs to be in normal mode not a slave mode or something like that, does the flash trigger if you push the test button?
 
done it more than once [wrong way round] try not swear at self as passing family think your going senile.
