This is something that I do now and then just to see if I have learnt anything and also how my creativity has grown.

When I first took this photo I did not like what I could do with it but nearly a year on my processing skills are a lot better as I think the picture shows.

Just picked up Nik Color EFX and Sharpener and it looks good.

This was shot last year in August the first one is the JPEG from the RAW and the second is my new version done today.

Keep your old files as you can always revist and try new techniques.

There. Really is a world of difference there. Your processing has definitely got better!

Perhaps you could still bring out a tad more foreground detail.

A huge improvement in the way it looks - now I think it needs a severe crop to make it a vertical picture - I'd get rid of all the sea either side. Give it a try.
 
I think it's an improvement, although better conditions in the first place would lead to a much more pleasing shot.

Try shooting when the sun is on way up / down, and for the hours just before and after.
