Yes I know this should go in the review section but I bet none of the digital boys are interested and I figured it would be better here. Let's all keep quiet and not bother the mods ;)

So I mentioned in the bargains thread about the offer CC were running (free slide film + dev + scan + print + free film) and obviously I took advantage.

The original film took a few days to get here (for some reason they were suddenly busy.... :whistling:) and when it came it was 35mm :(. That was probably my fault - I chucked it in the fridge for later and shot a couple of rolls of 120 Velvia 100. Stuffed them both in one envelope and sent them off. (Top tip - you can mail 2 rolls of 120 for a first class large as long as you don't overpad the envelope).

That was probably last Wednesday. Today I thought "it's been a while since I sent those off" so I rang to check where they were - despatched yesterday and of course they arrived half an hour after I called. (Remember there were 2 bank holidays in there.)

Very well packed in double stiffened envelope were:
1. 2 sets of developed slides (more about these later)
2. 2 sets of prints
3. a CD with index print and high and low res scans
4. a roll of 120 Provia - slightly disappointingly it's a few days out of date (2012-5) but I bet it's fine

All for 20 quid.

Slides were well packed in non folded sleeves and looked gorgeous. Try as I might I can't find a spot of dust, thumbprint or smeary mark on them. 10 out of 10.

Scans are nice. 6X8 scans are about 1500 X 1200 at high res and 500 X 400 at low res. Lots of contrast - no dust and generally look really jolly nice. 2 pics had been scanned twice - the second time they have more contrast and look nicer.

Prints are good too. Fuji Crystal Archive glossy. One roll is printed with the "more contrast" setting and benefits from it.

Only downsides:
1. One slide had moved during scanning and is weirdly ghosted on both scan and print - tranny is fine.
2. Would have preferred higher res scans - especially as they are so nice.
3. IMO the other roll would have looked better at "more contrast".

I'd give them a highly recommended 9 out of 10.

Im really glad to read this, I'm just aboit to shoot the slide film they sent me amd was a little concerned about how well it'd work.

4. a roll of 120 Provia - slightly disappointingly it's a few days out of date (2012-5) but I bet it's fine

Ah, so it was part of the 120 shortdated stuff that Fujifilm has been getting rid of (see jaz-uk and 7dayshop for the other stuff)! Interesting.

Excellent review and good to see they are worth using. I shall load my 120 up into the Yash and use it at the weekend.

Got my film back today. My Film is also last months, so OOD by a little.

The Prints are very very nice, as are my Negs. However i'm not massively impressed with the Scans :/

Just received my 120 stuff.
Took a while, I phoned to enquire and got the impression that they wait to get batches before scanning.
I informed them that there was no rush just wanted to be sure they had arrived.
To their credit they didn't process my payment until the day of despatch.
The Trannies are very clean, no marks and the film and disc was very well packed.
I had the small scans and have printed at 8x8 with seemingly no loss of quality.
I'll use them again...
