I have done this before but forget.

How do I show the focus point/s used in PP software?

I've not even installed it but i thought i read the canon software could do it. Could be wrong of course :)

In Canon's DPP, you click the view tab and then select "show focus points"....only with RAW files though.

And don't forget - If you use the focus and recompose technique it renders them totally meaningless - you can see which focus point was used, but not what it actually focussed on . . . .

Nope, still no worky

Open a RAW image in Canon Zoom Browser EX
Under the drop down menu beneath "View", enable "show auto focus points"
As Steve has already said, if you have focused and then recomposed, the highlighted focus point will be meaningless.

It's OK I just sussed it today! :bang:

I was trying to do it in Preview mode . The image has to be double clicked to bring it into it's own box and then "View", enable "show auto focus points".

Wow. I had no idea you could do this! I never bothered with the canon software in the first place, zoom browser is slow as hell.

People use focus points other than the centre  ?

I think with the 5D at least the centre point has twice the resolution of the others, useful when close at massive apertures anyway.
