Retro Toys/Games you had as a kid

Ooh, that Johnny Seven is the dog's. I had something similar I was over the moon with, but only - it appears - through living in ignorance. My ex-army Dad asked if there was a kit for casting our own bullets when we bought it.

I would spend ages poring over catalogues: Hornby, Airfix, Revell etc.

Was that pre-decimalization? (Mine was ;) )

The earlier ones had solid hands and no "eagle-eyes" :)

I used to have a action man and I'd go to an upstairs window, tie string around him under his arms and swing him past the windows downstairs.

Was this attention seeking behaviour? :suspect:

I played a similar game (only once!) on my 5th birthday. I took my brand new Action Man Talking Commander (the one with the little vinyl record in his back) complete with a parachute up to my bedroom and threw him out of the window. Sadly rather than floating down to the ground below he simply smashed onto the patio :shake:

I also remember Tin Can Alley, Salvo, Stayin' Alive, Junk Yard, Downfall, Cascade and Game of Dracula? :)

anyone remember this PC Game?

I had that on the acorn electron

The green plastic paratrooper with his polythene `chute, from out of a Lucky Bag.

Ah lucky bags were such a treat!!

Also the foam planes that you'd get in a little packet thing and slot them all together then chuck them round the house like paper aeroplanes.

Connect 4!! Jenga....puppy in my pocket! Polly Pocket....ah good times!

I still have my ZX81. I got it for my 18th birthday.

I had one of them, zak same. Weighed a chuffing ton.

Oh eye, they were a sod to wheely, the definition of a blunt instrument.
If BMX's are Suzuki Jimmny's, the Grifter was a Landrover 110, with a cow in the back..

To be honest, the Grifter is a close second, I only get misty eyed for my red Chopper :suspect:

I had a mate at school who never had any trouble getting a wheely out of his Grifter and he had a mate who was better still.
I tried to pull a wheely once off a school long jump on a Chopper. I Succeded in nose diving straight into the sand.

My 1st ever bike was a Raleigh Burner MINI - Chrome MkII

 in my mid teens personal computers were becoming all the rage. My parents couldnt afford the popular ones of the time, so I got a Commodore Vic 20, mega computing power indeed. What I really wanted was one of the dinky cute sinclair ZX spectrum things. Never happened back then, but there is one sat in the loft these days, still in its original box, with all the stuff, a hangover of Mr Yv being older and richer than i was at the time
