I decided on a tripod and head so popped to Jessops while I was there I picked up a new canon 55-250 f4.6 IS II and and ND grad and some ND's in varying strengths.

I was fed up with my Tamron 70-300 not having any IS and with the tremors I get I felt I needed it.

Well done, you'll find a world of difference from the old Tamron, I used to have one ( now have the VC version), I also have the Canon 55-250 it's just too good to let go and convenient for a walkabout lens.
