resizing

Every time I get the saturation and contrast right on full resolution image, and then resize to a small size it looks over saturated and too contrasty. Is there any automated way of adjusting saturation and contrast when reducing the size of the image?

Making it small may make it softer but it should not change colour and contrast. You don't say what program you are using.

Maybe try Irfanview as there is a tutorial here - http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=24881

or any one of many other free editors capable of resizing.

What software are you using and what method are you using to resize?

I don't know if this is the right way of doing things, but if I want/need a smaller sized final photo, I resize first and then do any adjustments on the smaller image.

I use CS5, I do image, resize (or something like that), select option "best for reduction" and type new resolution in. Is there any other way?

So when does the saturation change, instantly on resizing or after saving and are you using any layers?
