Resizing

Hi all,
I am looking for a really straightforward guide/tutorial on resizing. I just can't get the concept and feel I am missing a trick. I have searched forum but wondered if anybody could point me towards a simple guide?

Could you be more specific, ie. For Web, For Print etc. Only there is a difference to the way you do things for various end results.

Thanks all - will take a look at Youtube. Really jst want to understand how to get the best look for images - printing, web viewing (Flickr etc).

Irfanview is a good and free resizing software. It also sharpens as well as it resizes if you want it too.

Been using this as my default image viewer for years. Lots of handy plugins for raw and so forth too.
