Resizing to 800 for posting on forums

I store my photos on Flickr but the sizes are medium(500) or large(1024)
Can you alter the size in Flickr to 800 for linking photos or do you have to use image resizing software and place them on the likes of Photobucket.

I am sure there must be hundreds of members using Flickr who wish the size limit was 1024. :)
 
I just post medium 500 but with 'click for large' 1024 option so folk can see bigger if they choose.
 
Thanks dinners, how do you incorporate the click for large option.

I resize all my images to 800 pixel jpegs for uploading to flickr. If you optimally sharpen them first they aren't affected by Flickr compression in the resizing, and images you hot link to will be exactly as you uploaded them.
 
600pixels is more than enough for viewing and people can print a 6x4 that looks ok even that that! 800pixels is overkill.

You might want to try Faststone Resizer, a freeware program that works very well and is simple to use. Just google "Faststone" and you're on your way.
