I have a few hundred 12MP and 16MP files (RAW) that I need to downsize to 544x408 pixels(!) for Web use. I have Aperture, and LR (not overly familiar with it) available to me. I realize the output sizer is small, but are there any tips to make the most of it?
and the site receives a small commission

Use LR. When you export, you can set the sharpening. Try it on a few images to see which looks better to you. Also, the quality level is important. You'll probably want the quality level set quite high if you're worried about making the "most of it"
