Sorry for the gruesome sounding title, but I have a project in mind which would require me to take some images of resin cast models of human body organs like the one below.

I would really like to be able to do this project but would need those shots to complete it. Does anybody know where I could go to take some shots of similar types of resin models? Serious suggestions preferred :D

You could try writing to your local secondary schools, they usually have biology departments.
Also, colleges and universities that teach biology/nursing/medicine.
You could even try asking your GP if he knows where you could access some.

Try the anatomy department at your nearest university that has a medical school, they should have plenty of that sort of thing. I don't know what the rules are on photographing the specimens though, I suspect they're covered by the very strict Human Tissue Act.

are these the work of gunther von hagens? if it is then his show tours the world as far as i know

Looks like on of his. He's a big fan of getting people to look at and understand the human body so it might be worth contacting him/the institute for plastination and see if they have any images you are allowed to use.

I went to a body worlds exhibit at the O2 2 years ago, and while it was fascinating, I seem to recall photography was prohibited. Could be wrong though as it was before I was into the hobby.

Photography was prohibited at the Earls Court Body Worlds exhibition. I got a book with lots of good photos there - which is exactly what they want you to do by banning photography.
