About 2 years ago when my wife was pregnant with our first child I posted a similar question to this.
I posted a photo I had seen on the web and I asked for advice on how to reproduce something similar. Loads of people helped out and I was able to get a shot that I was very pleased with in the end. One that I still think is one of my best shots (although I'm somewhat biased by the subject matter...
)
Two years later and baby number 2 is coming....
and in some respects i'm even more nervous of messing these photos up than I was last time...
So once again I'm asking for some advice on how to reproduce a photo that I have seen on the web. The hardest thing I found to deal with last time was the white background, so this time we are going to try for black.

For what it is worth, if it impacts on anything i will be using a 40d, 50mm 1.4, two elinchom 400 D-lites and two soft boxes in a space about 12ft by 8ft
Any help, advice or words of wisdom would be very gratefully received.
Cheers,
Photonumpty
ps. Just in case i hadn't made it clear the above photo is not mine, I did not photograph it and I do not own it
