In the process of choosing a new compact as a handbag camera (well I am female) for those moments when the dslr is not to hand etc as the wb700 control button has decided to give up the ghost - still ok for odd snap but zoom etc has mind of its own.

I quite like the samsung wb850f unless of course the folk here can come up with an alternative.

I do use the zoom which is 18x on wb700 alot as well as it being a decent macro for a compact.

I welcome the input guys

I use the 150 version, which for me, fits a 5dmk3, 35L, 85L and either a 70-200 or 600EX-RT flash, laying on top. It's got a pocket inside for a tablet too, and zipped front for bits and pieces like filters, lens pens, micro fibre cloths, etc. It's the best bag I've bought. I may actually buy a larger version at some point too.

Oops, I misread that a bit :D

I somehow read it backwards, as they wanted a bag for a compact :D

I solved the problem by using a bigger handbag.

Well, being of the unfairer sex, I don't have a handbag but I do have a suggestion for a handbag camera (if they're still available!) - a Fuji XF-1. Currys/PCWorld might still have them but if not, there's a replacement but with a button rather than manual zoom. The XF-1 slips into a shirt pocket, even in its case, so should suit a handbag very well - they are (or at least were!) available in black, tan or red so might even match the bag it's going to live in.

Canon S110 or S120, I love my S100 and it's tiny.
