Replacing an RB67 Lens Mount

Has any one tried to replace the mount on an RB67 lens? I've got a 250mm which is quite scratched up and has a small colony living in it and I've been given an 127mm C which has been damaged at some point. The glass looks fine but one of the lugs has been pressed in to the track and despite bending it back out it still won't mate whith the camera.

So can I put mount of the dieing 250 on the better looking 127?
 
There are vids on Youtube about cleaning and overhaul of Mamiya lenses, not sure about your particular ones.
The method should be similar though. Just remember that you need the correct tools and it may be more difficult than you think.
I don't know your capabilities!

Cheers, never thought of youtube vids. There are four screws on the back and I'm hoping that they only hold the back plate, with the mouting lugs, in place and I'll just need to swap them over. The video above doesn't cover that but I'm sure one will.

That's normal for most lenses- three or four.
It tends to be a cover plate rather than everything falling out, but there's always a first time!
 
Cool, I expect the easiest thing to do is to remove those screws and see what comes away. now the next question is which to perform the first exploratory surgery on, the working but knackered 250 or the currently broken but clean 127.
 
Well if you start on the already broken one a mistake won't reduce the number of useful lenses you have...
 
Yeah your probably right, better a working but worn lens than two broken ones.
 
Minor problem, the screws are in tighter than my screwdrivers can cope with, I just bent the teeth on them...
 
A trick you can use is try tightening just a fraction first, then loosen.
Screwdriver must be an exact fit.
 
Got them, however I appear to have bitten off more than I chew... Got the plate off but the sliders on the sides of the lens for aperture preview and flash sync have popped out...

Nothing is broken, I just can't quite get everything back together. Back to YouTube, guess it won't be as simple as I had hoped!
 
It's a good way to learn.
 
Picked the right lens to experiment on, then! :) Sorry to read about this, hope you manage to fix it....

Got it mostly reassembled using the broken mount, but I snapped the little linkage which fires the flash. Doesn't actually matter it's part of the broken assembly any way.
