Yes
Well I bought this camera with lens of a member here for buttons for a play its a Practica TL3 Super with 50mm 1.8.
Its in mint condition but had the dreaded prism fungus. I shot it last week and the pictures from the roll came out really nice so I thought yay its a keeper lets see if we can sort the fungal prism out.

So i bought it to work today as im a 12hour day shift with plenty of quite time, managed to take the lid off and get close to the prism but its not going to happen I will end up wrecking it.

So

I would like a replacement, before I place a wanted thread does anyone have something they would pass on. just looking for a nice on with a clear finder/screen.

or any other suggestions on the theme?

Shame you didn't post sooner, as maybe Nick going north ? could have dropped off a small parcel with MTL5, Centon K100,Konica C35 and Minolta A5, plus a few lenses (some mint), and if I raid my wife drawer a few P&Ss, for you to play with......postage costs are usually more than you could buy the individual items if you hunt on the bay or charity shops.

Cheers Brian oh well shame, an MTL5 looks pretty like a nice candidate.
Your right about the postage now a days. I paid £20 for the body, lens and a right nice case from a chap on the forum.
I would happily sort out carriage if you fancied sending it me like? I can give it a home :-)

Well Paul I would suggest I loan you the camera for say 5 years ;) :suspect:.....might as well stick the Centon K100 (Pentax bayonet) or C35 or whatever in (except the A5 which is heavy) as well if it's under the weight limit (or whatever the rules of the parcel delivery people are).
The MTL5 looks fairly mint and the meter still works with a 1.5v battery, shutter speeds ok but can't remember if I have run a film in it as I usually use a MTL3 for certain lenses.

I'm comfortable with the terms of the loan

Ok do you want the Centon or C35 as well if it's under the weight OR just want the MTL5 ?...and I'll have to look up the thread about cheap posting, as the post office is a ripoff.

I haven't got any lenses for the Centon (Pentax fit ) so thats probably a non starter and only the one m42 fit lens the 50mm Penticon F1.8. The C35 looks funky .
If you have a different m42 lens that would be nice but realy just the the MTL5 body would be a right proper treat.

Yes the MTL5 is nice, it was in a camera bag with three lenses..I was after the lenses not the camera, well the lenses were mint so the camera hasn't been used much.
The only M42 lens I'm not going to use (as I have so many similar lenses) is a Galaxy 15 blade preset 135mm f3.5....forget the name, this is a good lens but a bit stiff changing the focus, and as I'm never going to do B\W 35mm shots again you can have some filters (on loan of course :) ) if you are short and if I have them....I've only got the Meyer 50mm F1.8 which should be the same as Pentacon, but best to check your filter size.

I think the Pentacon F1.8/50mm is a 49mm filter size I tried a standard 52mm which I have a few filters and it was to big, quick google says 49mm however I could buy a chinese adapter and use the 52mms, I actually have a 43.5mm to 52mm on order so I can try some filters on my Olympus trip 35. I probably think the 135mm wont get used much so don't worry bout that, I mainly just want to run the Pentacon lens again as I was very surprised at the quality of the test role even though i opened the camera without rewinding the film, what a clown.

Ok I'll have a sort thru' some B\W filters to see what I have and get back to you before the emails....I was amazed that pointing the MTL5 around the garden and comparing with a modern camera the meter was +\- half a stop difference...must still have the old mercury battery 1.35v in, and I put a 1.5v battery in my MTL3.

Nice one I did keep the battery from the now in the bin TL3 its a Varta V625PX.

Found my 49mm Y\G, O, B filters I bought 50 years ago  Also best to take the screws off the old camera as they could be useful in the future . Anyway I'll box it all up and see what the posted charges are.

Wow Epic Stuff !

TA......Royal mail have increased their size of parcels (more for the same) starting from £2.60, might be worth checking out.

A bump for @Mr Bump (Paul)....just to let you know of a small delay as my son was supposed to have an operation yesterday but hopefully now today, so will get the parcel sorted out Wednesday.

Well I would think the mods :suspect: would make an exception on sending me some 2nd class stamps in return, after receiving the goods, because it's a loan :)

Took the parcel into the shop for posting and was told.... "you have to do it on the internet and then hand it to us" Anyway have now done it and will drop it back tomorrow for posting.....shame really as you will now probably have to wait till Monday for delivery. Anyway cheapest was Hermes at £3.90 compared to the dearest... parcel force at £11

Parcel Farce is so crazy that Herpes company is getting a lot of good feedback I hear.

Great....Herpes seems a good delivery service with tracking info.
Does anybody want a Centon K100 (Pentax PK mount) on loan?

I wouldn't mind borrowing for a little while Brian if no one else has a desperate need for an slr

Glad to.... but I would think it would be cheaper to post to your relations in England than France...have you considered that? Also if you want you can have an OM20.... works perfectly on auto but manual speeds don't work, and just got this back from Asda today after testing the Vivitar 24mm f2 with Afga Vista:-

Om20 camera

Wow that's a nice result. Some details left in the grass shadows in the foreground without blowing the highlights ...as I've found myself Brian, that quid film offers decent colour rendition imo along with a brill exposure lattitude.

lens is spot on sharp too by the looks of it:thumbs:

Thanks, the Om20 got the exposure spot on because of the grey church and blue sky..might be a different result with a black cat on a white background trusting auto ;)

Cheapest delivery to France is £18  unless someone knows different ...IMO it's not worth it even for two camera bodies.

 blimey, you loan gear for free and RM impose an extortionate rental fee:(. Any strong pigeons in your garden Brian willing to fly 800 miles ladened up? :D

Pigeons? That's a good idea post them to me so they know where to return
I suppose the problem is crossing the channel as you could drive say from Germany to France, but it might be £4 for delivery to your relations up north, if they are going to send a big christmas parcel to you then maybe they can add the cameras
