Replacement/repair for SB600

When my SB 600 is fired up, it cycles through it's TTL focus cycle as if trying to lock on when the body is focussing (after the youngest dropepd it). I've been advised by Jessops GBP150 to get it repaired.

I have two questions:

Any where to try for repair quotes?

If it's beyond repair any 'best value' suggestions for a replacement?

That seems to be Jessops' 'one-size-fits-all' repair quote. Exactly the same price as we go on three different jobs, ranging from a service on a 30D to a stuck shutter on a 10D... :)

Try Fixation - always been good when fixing my cameras :)

As for a replacement, either another SB600 (could probably get a used one for £150) or get a used SB800 for around £180 :)

No probs - need to get the hotshoe on my SB28 replaced so they'll be getting my business very soon... :)
 
Only downside of fixation is that the quoted price is plus vat, p&p etc :)
