Can anyone recommend where to get a replacement charger for a laptop, I've seen a few on Amazon with mixed reviews

I'm after a
609939-001 for hp

Bloody dog has chewed through mine

Thanks mate.

Can anyone recommend a 3rd party brand?

I'll put my cards on the table. I own the website I linked to. They are genuine HP chargers, hence the two year guarantee.

The reason you get mixed reviews on Amazon is because they are usually cheap 3rd party brands or fakes.

I made the recommendation not because it's my business, but because I know you can get some very dodgy, dangerous chargers out there.

Yeah that's what worries me, i usually don't mind 3rd party but with chargers etc I'm a bit wary of them. Doesn't bother me its your site mate, it's cheaper then some i have looked at, I'd rather give my money to someone on here then a random person on Amazon anyway :)

Could well be purchasing one on Wednesday

Although the search for the model I'm after links to
391172-001

You'll find that there are quite a few model numbers that refer the the same spec charger. If you take a look at the bottom of that page you'll find quite a few model numbers that relate to the same charger, including yours.

No problem. I know this is probably against forum rules, but I'd rather break a rule than have somebody purchase a potentially dangerous charger.

Of course it entirely up to you where you buy from and we are not the only legit UK supplier.

I have a HP F1-09103244620B

It's 19v 4.74A 90W max with a clover leaf 240v connection

You can have it for the cost of postage if it's any use?

Mines a 18.5v 3.5a 65w, would that be too much for mine?

Haha. Well I don't know the technicalities of it all, I'll ask a mate who's a bit more knowledgeable and get back to u ASAP

Dunno

The 90w charger will work on a 65w laptop. The laptop will only draw the power required so you can use a charger with a higher wattage, but not a lower wattage. You just need to make sure the tips are the same and the voltage should be within 1 volt either way.

@admirable, If you can let me know the model number or "replace with HP spare" number I'll confirm that for you.

I left my laptop charger in a hotel in san francisco when on holiday. Good job Walmart sold replacement ones with universal connectors :D

I got a replacement from Amazon from a seller with good reviews, within a couple of weeks it started buzzing and got very it went back (to be fair got a refund quite quickly) and I bought an original. It cost more but I really didn't like the buzzing..

Just waiting for a mate to get back to me with if he has a spare or not, how much for postage if not?

I'm guessing about £3 2nd class

Yeah that's cool. Well I'll let u know by Wednesday when (if) he gets back to me if that's ok
