Replacement Keyboard

I've got an iMac with the wireless keyboard.

But today it had a fight with my cup of coffee and sadly the coffee seems to have won. It's currently sat in my airing cupboard and I am hoping a night there will help return it to it's former glory.

But in case it doesn't, does anyone know where I can get a replacement keyboard of similar quality without paying the £50+ for a real Apple one?

Or possibly I'd consider a more traditional PC style keyboard if it is top quality. What do you all use?

before you binned the old keyboard there may be a chance to save it. I hope it didn't have too much sugar and milk as things start to get more complicated. You need to open it up and carefully wipe down, clean and dry all sheets of wiring. When its wet it doesn't work, but as its dried it goes back to normal. Chances are it might come back to life. Obviously if coffee got further than that I could be the end of it

I am typing on a 25 year old IBM Model M. I bought five more from second hand shops in the late 1990s (for £2 each) which I use at home.

Accept no substitutes :D

Spot the geeks who like mechanical keyboards (Filco here ;)) :D

One of my personal ones. That was taken in 2006 at my old house and I'm still using the same keyboard.

I actually took the photo to show the model locomotive ("Meld", for those interested) but got more comments about the keyboard when I posted it on another forum

CTF by any chance?

Actually it was ther pic that I noticed first! I rarely take note of user names to be honest.

You can wash it under the tap using warm water (no detergents) and give it 2 to 3 weeks drying time to make sure all the water has evaporated it should then work without problems.

I got a Logitech K750 a few weeks back and I must say its stunning, solar powered too and apparently can last up to 3 months in a pitch black room on a full charge. One of the nicest keyboards I've ever used, and after 13 years in ICT, believe me I've used a lot!

The mac version of the k750 is a lovely white colour like the apple keyboard too! :)
