So, my damged 18-135 lens was sent to canon elstree for estimate so I could claim on travel insurance. Estimate came back of £222.95 to be fixed, Travel insurance paid out £182.95. I accepted the repair on the 5th december iirc, I thought I might as well have the repair done, so I don't have to a £35 estimate and lose that cash.

Fast forward to today, still waiting, the lens is sitting awaiting parts, firt the eta was 5th of Jan, rung up monday, will give you a call back. Had to ring back this morning, got the news from them the part is now due 22-26th of this month!

I feel like I should have sacrificed the £35 and gone second hand shopping! I'm surprised something as mass produced as the 18-135 they would have spares available, canon store even were selling them new a couple of weeks ago at £269, they could have just given me one of them!

Annoyed,

Sorry for ranting! I don't normally do this.
