Give Colchester Camera Repairs a call, they did mine.. really well.
 
ill give em ring tommrow,hopfully won't be too dear,or more than camrea worth

Lehman in Stoke on Trent, very efficient service, replaced the shutter on my 1Dmk2, great service.

sounds pins in the cam got damage, replacement £162

Have you spoken to Canon @ Elstree ?

Worth a phone call to ensure price is going rate for repair ...

Seems a better price - about £40 cheaper than lehmans (if there £162 was inc vat)

are you getting it repaired ?

well its been repaired
repaired main circuit,replaced cf pin,focuing screen and si screen
gen service,up dated firmware
reset to canon spec

The SI plate/screen resides above the focusing screen and is a thin clear plate onto which the focusing point are marked (hence the term superimpose).
