If they've got a camera shooting 35mm motion film then thats going to be a seriously complex/expensive camera as shooting 4 perf 35mm is very expensive as you would expect from it being used to shoot the majority of major films (e,g a 400' magazine of Kodak film costs about £150 [not including processing] and lasts about 4 minutes), are you sure it wasn't 16mm or 8mm that she meant as that would be more what I would expect?

Whilst a lot of the time problems can be sorted out fairly simply, for most older cine cameras the problem is getting parts. Could you get some more detail?

Hi Samuel.

I must admit I thought the same as you when I saw "35mm cine camera".

I'll ask for some more info.

It's a bit ironic that I live in Borehamwood, which 50 years ago had about 6 or 8 film studios all in production.

The list of films that have been made here is legendary, a few of them here http://vimeo.com/38064806.

So there would no doubt of been people fixing and maintaining these cameras all the time.

They turned half of one of the two remaining studios into a Tesco a few years back, don't think they will be able to help much!!
