Renting a camera body?

I know there are lens rental suppliers but can anybody recommend a camera body rental outfit?

I am looking to maybe swap systems and would like to try a couple of cameras (Canon 50D & 7D) for the weekend before committing myself.

downside with Calumet is you have to leave a deposit equal to the cost of the body :bonk: might aswell buy the body

I've thought about this before but it seems far too expensive.

If you're considering buying one, you might as well try it in a shop and then take the risk... Decent big-name SLRs don't depreciate very fast... If you kept it a couple of months and then stuck it on eBay, you'd probably be better off than hiring it for a week.
And if you did decide to keep it, you save the rental fee.

We've used www.hireacamera.com at work to hire 1DmkIV (and a couple of lenses) for a particularly demanding night shoot in bad whether conditions. Due to the value of the equipment a deposit and insurance was required but the actual hire price was very reasonable.

if you only shoot pictures go for the 50D if sometimes in you head your thinking in do some Video Go for the 7D very similar cameras apart of the video and Frame Rate also button layout is a bit different my mate find a bit annoying taking landscapes with the 50D in a tripod because buttons are right in the wrong place

Why not try and meet up with other from here in your area that have the cameras you are interested in and have play :shrug: I know if someone in my area was thinking about a D300 I would be more than happy to meet with them.
