REMOVING PICTURES

Just go to the post and "edit" remove, Delete the link

If you'd like multiple photos deleted off multiple threads you could move the hosting location/change the URL to private with probably 1 click and that would take care of ALL the photos linked anywhere.

The how has been answered, but the question is why is it that you want to do this? changing posts and removing photo's is often going to spoil the thread

Surely that's between the user and Admin/Mods if they feel its inappropriate?

"Why" is a valid question IMO - in this instance O/P removed them because no one offered any crit ... other more productive alternatives to deleting could have been suggested.

I've done the 'edit' and delete the link on a few threads, mainly cleaning up for sale threads when an item has sold, and a few when I've decided to remove the photos from my Flickr account for various reasons.

I havent seen the post in question but if the OP wants to remove a picture for whatever reason then that is up to him, "it is his picture".

I would certainly be interested in hearing your "more productive" alternatives

Certainly ... add to the thread a simple "anyone?" or "would really welcome some advice" post ... or post a link in the thread specifically supplied by Admin to request members to look at your thread.
I don't dispute that everyone has the right to delete their own pictures but doing so because no one has commented on them is counter productive surely?

But then isnt this akin to twisting someones arm up their back to force a response?
not everyone has the confidence or arrogance to "beg" for a response which is what your suggestions imply.

I'm with Gramps, surely it takes more arrogance and confidence to start a whole other thread to publicly tantrum that no-one's offered crit on your images:shrug:

I didnt think that I had 'Thrown a public tantrum' as Phil V suggests. All I did was ask for some good or bad critique on some pictures, Didn't get any, Fair enough it's up to other people if they want to or not. So I decided to remove them to save some space (albeit not a lot) and tidy up a little. I didn't think to post an 'Anyone?' request as 'Gramps' suggested or I would have. I was also unaware that you could request a link off admin requesting people to view your pictures. I seem to have got more response to taking them down than posting them in the first place.

Paul, in fairness you never left them up long, nor did you 'bump' them in any way;).

As far as I can tell, the sports section doesn't have the same levels of footfall that some other sections do. I can see why you're frustrated, but my guess is that if you'd left them up and put as much effort into getting a response as you did into removing them - you'd have got more response.

Sorry Phil I didnt realise that you have experience in psychology.
let me get this right  when anything is posted as a question or a statement regarding crit etc it is deemed as a tantrum oh O.K

So you've never heard the phrase that portrait photography is 10% photography and 90% Psychology;)

:lol:You have just done it!

Making a new post puts the thread back up the top so it is seen more.

Well I posted a thread in sports section and got zero replies! Lol tbh doesnt bother me and I certainly wont make a point of bumping or getting the hump over it. It happens but dont let it get to you. If I get replies with some good advice or critique its a bonus. I certainly wouldnt remove images etc.

I'll say it again I didn't get the hump and it's certainly not getting to me about nobody offering critique about my pictures! As I said it's up to them. I also explained my thoughts about other options people offered to get my pictures commented on. Finally I also gave my reasons for removing my pictures. Honestly guys thanks for taking the time to read and comment on this post.
