Hi guys what do you recommend to remove very light scratches from a camera lcd, and similar light scuff marks to a camera body?

Google says vaseline and white toothpaste but i'm a bit sceptical lol

Have any of you ever successfully done this, and what did you use?

Thanks

Put a GGS glass protector on the LCD they should disappear.

Toothpaste works well on CD/DVD's so I don't see why an LCD screen should be too much different.

I was thinking of trying to remove them before i do this, but if i can't that's what i will do.

I'm scared of trying it in case it wrecks the screen lol

Could do with trying it on another screen first.

The glass protectors use a silicone adhesive that tends to fill light scratches.

My grandfather give me his Tudor watch (Rolex) which had light scratches and when I took the watch to the dealers they advised to clean the face with toothpaste, as it acts like a very fine cutting/polishing compound. It worked for me.

Toothpaste will not wreck it if anything the opposite it will take a few goes to get them out I would imagine.

I have an old GH1 in the loft, which if i remember rightly has a few marks on the lcd, i'm going to practice on that later.

Thanks for all the replies.

If you can see any anti-reflection coatings on the screen then, realistically, there is nothing you can do as you would just remove more coating. Toothpaste ,by it's very nature, will be quite aggressive.
If they are very light just count your losses and put a screen protector on it.

Like wrinkles, marks on a camera are just trophies of a useful life.
Why worry?
I have never seen scratches when a camera is on and in use.

It's my OCD unfortunately.

Toothpaste didn't work anyway.

So i applied the screen protector and as twist said, the marks become invisible, my OCD knows they're there, but i think i can manage that, just :)
