after buying a tripod i guess i should be buying myself a remote switch as well (canon 80N3)

looking 0n ebay there are lots of cheapo no brand ones, are these any good? as i could save myself £30 or so quid if i get one of them

thanks
jamie

I guess it depends on your need for self timers and the like. The cheapo ones look like they just replicate your shutter button, whereas the Canon one lets you do a little more.

:)

I use an 'ADIDT M1 remote cord' that I got from ebay and it has been fine. Does the half press thing and a slide lock to keep the button pressed (which can be quite useful).

Yuo I use the ADIDT thingy with my 30 (and I used the similar equivalent with my 350D before this too), and ts fine.

It feels a bit plasticy, so the Canon one will feel much better and more expensive, but they both do the same job. Half press, full press, full press and slide/lock (for bulb).

I dont think they do a timer one, so if thats what youre after, then go Canon.

Me? I saved the money, and for the amount of times I use it, Im never going to notice the difference :D

If it helps...Ill dig out the link of the guy I've used for both cables.

In Germany I think.

I use the Adidt M1 with my 20d, it does the job ok :D
