I'm looking at getting a remote release to help me take 'steadier' shots with my new 450D.

These are the options:
rc-1
rc-5
rs-60e3

A chap in Jessops also told me there are cheaper 3rd party infra-red ones, but I don't know which they are.

So does anyone have the above, what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

I'm leaning towards the wired one, since I just want stability, not the ability to be able to shoot from in front of the cam.

Dude,

Save yourself some serious wedge and type the above into ebay. You will get a wired remote from a Hong Kong seller for about £5 including postage. For what the Canon models are they are a rip off.

I've been reccomended a Phottix Cleon C6 from ebay, just ordered one today.

Hi, I'm also looking at a remote, but it will need to be wireless as I want to use it in front of the camera. Which of the Canon ones is best?

I agree, I got an ebay timer remote jobby, set the duration of each exposure, the gap between each exposure and how many exposures to take, and turn it on. The canon equiv is about £120 I think I read, I paid £18.
