Once i'm allowed my Redsnapper tripod(xmas morning) i will want a remote, i have been looking on ebay, just wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

I bought a Phottix remote for my D200, now use it on my D300. Great bit of kit, works just as it should and looks pretty good too.
I got mine from Ebay, they come from Honk Kong. Look here

Phottix one works great on my 200 and 300.

The Phottix Cleon N8 is pretty good.

Too be honest though, you can't beat the feel of a genuine Nikon MC-30 remote though. I much prefer the "plunger" type MC-30 release rather than stabbing at small buttons which you do on all the 3rd party units.

i have a third party one somewhere from my D200, was a nice piece of kit, will see if i can dig it out for some details

That must be your bad technique then........:p

You must be extraordinary bored to bother to quote that!

Seriously though, I personally much prefer the "plunger" type, feels much more tactile to me.

I think that "stabbing at small buttons" is a way OTT complaint.

And yes, I have a virus,am housebound and I am bored ****less...........:bang:
