I have been asked to rig up a very basic photobooth alongside a formal photo backdrop. Its just for facebook uploads afterwards so nothing fancy required.

I was thinking of using a remote flash trigger of some description for guests to click away (I will be right beside them taking official formal photos in case of any incidents). What way do these work? Anyone use them in a studio light situation and can recommend a good but inexpensive trigger? I'll likely have it linked to a 500D.

I sometimes do a mini studio setup at weddings and I use a camera mounted flash bouncing off the ceiling to optically trigger my 2 studio lights. In a slightly darkened room an optical trigger works every time.

I guess the only problem with that is ensuring that you don't also trigger the studio lights with any other flash you're using if your shooting next to it.

Yongnuo RF-602 - set-up correctly you can use one as the remote shutter release, and others for wireless flash.

Good point about triggering the other lights as I will be right beside it!! Will have to make sure I've got triggers on both main lights I'm using and cover the optical trigger. Thanks for that - that could have ended in a bit of a mess if I walked into that blind!

I've a couple of RF-602's lying round somewhere - must give them a go. Never thought of them! Many thanks for the help.
