I used to love it when it fell out of the Sunday supplements. I just found this article showing some of the stuff you could buy in it.

I’d forgotten I had one of the ‘levitating pens' although I don’t think it came from the Innovations magazine.

I never missed it until now.

There was a similar thing used to be delivered by a lovely lady on a bike, Betterware. We used to buy things now and again, sticky stuff remover and household things now and again. We had to fill in a form and she'd bring whatever it was in a couple of weeks. She hasn't been for a long time.

I suppose online buying/selling has wiped out door to door sales.

I googled Betterware and at first I thought they'd gone bust but I clicked on a link and apparently they're still putting catalogues through peoples doors and you can sign up to do just that if you want. I guess our lovely local lady just stopped.

We still got the catalogue left regularly till lockdown started. Haven’t bought anything from the agent for years but they still arrived as regular as clockwork. I imagine they must still get enough business out of it to make it worthwhile.
